Three fleet operators, one constrained grid connection
Kettering Commercial Park is a shared industrial site supporting three separate fleet operators, each running delivery and service vehicles on staggered shift patterns. The site’s existing electrical infrastructure, installed decades before EV charging was a consideration, had no meaningful spare capacity.
Bramwell Manufacturing, the lead tenant, needed a solution that worked across all three operators without a multi-year grid upgrade or a full substation rebuild, either of which would have made the project financially unworkable.
The solution
We worked with all three fleet operators to map exact vehicle counts, shift timing, and charging windows before finalizing bay locations.
A shared-use agreement was structured across all three tenants, with Bramwell Manufacturing as the lead signatory.
Rather than a full substation rebuild, we negotiated a phased capacity upgrade directly with the local utility, delivering enough power for all 8 chargers without the cost or delay of a complete infrastructure overhaul.
Ampcore built our charging hub around a genuinely difficult grid connection. It just worked.

How we delivered it
Charger placement and scheduling software were designed around the three operators’ staggered shifts, so peak demand never exceeded available capacity.
Ampcore manages uptime and maintenance across all 8 chargers, with usage reporting split by operator for internal billing.
Ampcore’s capital covered the phased grid upgrade and full construction, with no upfront cost to Bramwell Manufacturing or the other tenants.
The results
The hub went live in 7 months from first site visit, despite grid constraints that had made previous attempts at this site unworkable. All three fleet operators now run daily charging across staggered shifts, and the phased-upgrade approach has since become a template Ampcore applies to other constrained industrial sites.
